I think this was probably my least favorite volume in the series. Although it wasn't bad, I enjoyed the others more. 
Most of this vol takes place in one setting, with a lot of the characters just talking, arguing, and info dumping. There wasn't as much in the way of plot or romance, and I found myself just reading a chapter at a time several times a day until I finished. 

And... Guzi. This poor freaking child. I'm so tired of seeing Guzi suffer and no one caring about him. Yes, even Xie Lian is guilty of ignoring Guzi. I need him to just have a loving family and a happy life already. 
And yeah, Qi Rong was a POS, but was I still sad to see him go? Surprisingly yes. Probably because his last act was to protect Guzi and claim him as his son.

The reveals and the developments in this installments were incredibly good and I loved every second of them! The final battle

with the Xie Lian statue vs Fire giant fight

lost me a little though, hence the slightly lowered rating.
