After Still Beating, I had pretty high expectations — and Jennifer Hartmann did not disappoint

Lotus was amazing.
It’s dark, emotional, and full of heart.

Oliver’s journey from captivity to healing is raw and powerful, and Sydney’s loyalty and love made me tear up more than once.

Their connection is deep, messy, and beautiful. The twist to the story when I they saw what Oliver drew, was incredible. Never saw that coming at all.

This isn’t just a romance—it’s about survival, second chances, and finding light in the darkest places. I couldn’t put it down.

I can't wait for more of Gabe's story.

Wow. This book is the same world of Still Beating. This has triggers of kidnapping, sexual assault, PTSD.
It took a bit to get into but once it started it flowed great.

The ending had me on edge but my reaction of finding my guess of the plot twist was correct was amazing if I must say so myself. This had a very dark ending but I enjoyed how it pieced everything together. I cannot wait to read the next book in this world.

There is just something about Jennifer Hartmann and her writing style that has me all consumed.

Amazing! When I stumbled upon still beating randomly, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it! Lotus was no different! The author has an incredible way of taking such awful circumstances and writing them in such an incredible way. It’s hard to read at times, but so well written that you just can’t put the book down. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t wait to see what happened. It was sad and sick and twisted, but beautiful at times too! So good!

WOW is all I really have to say. I really loved this book! There was a sweet and innocent love story among some really awful things going on in this book and it was a perfect mixture for a beautiful story. Sydney and Oliver were childhood best friends until one day Oliver went missing. When Oliver is found 20+ years later Sydney is so excited. But things have changed since that horrible day. It was truly beautiful to see how they both struggled due to being away from each other and then needed each other to make things better. And the story related to Oliver’s kidnapping? Holy hell! It was shocking and emotional.

A little cheesy in places, but hard to put down with a lot of complex storylines outside of the central romance.
