would never dissuade people from reading this book, especially if you are unfamiliar with the rise of Stalin and more broadly the Soviet Union. However, as someone who is familiar with the topic, feel as if this book didn't have much to say. I think it doesa great job at showing how revolutions are often co- oped by people whose only goal is to gain and maintain power. Napoleon is a great Stalin stand in. love the choice for him not to be very present in the book. It creates the air of secrecy and constant wondering that an average citizen in Soviet Russia may have felt. Definitely read it if you haven't, but I'm not sure if it's worth a re-read

Very frustrating to witness the inevitable (and pretty predictable) downfall of the farm. Kind of upsetting how every single animal was immediately convinced by the gaslighting pigs. NOT as deep as I expected it to be. Felt like I was being spoonfed a lot of the metaphors, but it still had me reflecting on real life events (which was the whole point of the book). The last line was a BAR.

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

Animal Farm remains a classic in ways that become more and more evident each time it is read. Much like the animals on the farm, it has become hard to tell the difference between pigs and men.
