This dark, eerie, and bizarre tale of a young boy, a mysterious girl and a sheep man plotting their escape from a nightmarish library thoroughly creeped me out. I'm pretty sure I missed a lot of context and symbols behind Murakami's writing, but that was a-okay with me, as I was here for the vibes.

Haruki Murakami is my favorite author. It does not matter what he writes, I have enjoyed every book I have read my by him thus far. For me, I have a special connection to ‘The Strange Library’ as I am a Library Science student.

I loved the take on librarians “eating the brains filled with information,” I almost want this tattooed on me. This line explains me in a nutshell so well, as I love information and one reason I want to be a librarian is because I love consuming facts.

Haruki Murakami never fails to create an eerie and engaging story and I can’t wait to keep reading more by him.
