Armenian history is interesting, could've said a bit more in that aspect
i didn't like basically anything about this book outside from that. nareh the main girl is insufferable and self centered as a like 25? year old woman very torturous to read her be annoying all the damn time. she treated everyone around like shit couldn't articulate her words and then blamed everything on everyone else like grow up. literally all her relationships fell flat and lacked any substance, not believable at alllll, her so called bestfriend/cousin who we saw her have like 3 convos with and she would lowk diss her all the time, the armenian friend group that she was in where she didn't even speak to them except one, her girlfriend that seemed like they were like a middle school relationship, even her relationship w her mom like it just felt fake which is going to put this down a couple stars since thats what the whole thing is about essentially. very forgettable and i hope to forget it soon and heard the author is weird lol :/

Not a full five because the main conflict was just so uncomfortable to read—can’t relate to the protag’s feelings at all! But that’s a me thing, and overall I really enjoyed the book and can’t wait to read the author’s next book.

It just felt so cringey with how it’s written. I also think it was written in a very telling instead of showing fashion which kept me from being immersed. The author (so far) seems to have done all the work for the reader.

I really wanted to read this and have a peak into Armenian culture.
But it started incredibly cringy and it didn’t stop.
“Neato”. Who, in their 20s, says that?
And that Mark guy and the Richard guy, Jesus.
