Absolutely not for me. What happened to the baby… if I knew that was coming I would 100% not have picked the book up. I read the authors note about why she didn’t add the trigger warning about it but it was no excuse.

I feel a little indifferent here, I've heard this talked about lots and always in a sense of 'one of the worst (in a good way) books in extreme horror' but I walked away unsatisfied. I've read a fair few of Sea's work and love their dark mind so I had high hopes for this.
The first half felt a little slow, the second half rushed and repetitive in places. I'd hoped the revelation in the second half was explored further.

Wow I just couldn't this book down. It really kept me hooked and I felt for this man. And, not going to lie, his brother when I found out what he knew did piss me off. He needed to have worse happen to him damnit. I wonder if he will show up again.... Can't wait to see if he totally becomes a monster after all he's been through.

I feel indifferent about this book.
My lower rating isn't necessarily due to the content (which most reviewers have mentioned) but with the story as a whole.
I understand this is a very short story, but I didn't find much structure or purpose to some of the actions. Certain sections felt repeated and didn't contain new information that pushed the story along. It felt like a story I have read before, sprinkled with an act that will turn most readers away.
I didn't feel as if I needed to DNF it, however, I wish it was a bit more enjoyable.

It's not the worst thing I've ever read, just weak and repetitive dialogue and not enough character work for my tastes. The ending was a little shocking but once you've read enough extreme horror you know more or less what to expect.
