M.R. Tapia's THE DIE-FI EXPERIMENT is one of the best extreme horror books I've read in recent memory. Its a dire story that is one part Saw and one part Running Man. It's a fairly short read but packs one hell of a wallop.

Tapia handles the gore with ease. There is lots of story and its not all just gratuitous violence. It's easy to go overboard when writing extreme horror but Tapia pulls off a wonderful balancing act. Though the plot winds its way to logical conclusions, the ending is pretty open to go one way or another. The book is quick so the obvious path its taking isn't much of a distraction.

All in all this is a great freshman effort. I suspect M.R. Tapia will be making some waves in extreme horror in the near future. Pick this one up and check it out, you won't be disappointed. Wish I could give it the extra half star and make it a solid 3 1/2 Star book.

This short little horror story is just under 70 pages long but is absolutely jam packed with a fantastic violent story. It is half horror and half study of social networking, based in the near future where how many likes you get on twitter/Facebook/Instagram is the most important thing in anybody's life. Grace before a meal is replaced with everybody taking a photo of their food and uploading to Instagram for their followers with the relevant number of hashtags. #nomoregrace

This story though is focused on one aspect of social networks, the "Epic Fail", I'm sure you've all watched a video of a skateboarder accidentally ramming his balls onto a handrail and thought "haha, you Twat!" well in the future things are more extreme, those epic fails have turned into live murders with the #livedeath and #gladitsnotme. In the latest internet craze there is a fight to the death gameshow being streamed live, our main contestants are Marie and her husband and the viewers watch as they are slowly tortured. The scenes of violence are separated with flashbacks on their lives, how they met and how they eventually ended up in their current situation.

This book will make you cringe, but like any good fail video on YouTube it will make you stick with it to the end.
