Ahh this was so cute! Wondering how slow of a burn we're going to get with this series...no matter what I'm here for it!

3.5 stars. Quickie review - This was entertaining, but I didn't know it was a serial. Still, I liked it. It was my first RH and I didn't love the YA-feel. There is an obvious heroine who is a cupid, but who the heroes will be is still up in the air a bit. I also felt it was a little drawn out. The ending was a cliffhanger, which was unsatisfying because there was no payoff. But I liked the worldbuilding, the cupid and fantasy aspects, and was entertained. I was sucked in enough to the story to keep going onto book two, which I liked much better, so I'm glad I continued.

I honestly went into this book with the lowest of low assumptions (mostly because i forced myself to read the plated prisoner series and absolutely hated it) but i was shocked by how good this was! I admit i cheated a little bit and i did read the synopsis's for the next books in the series so i could get a feel for what it would be like, and because the main characters get a happy ending in the final book i decided it really couldn't be all that bad.

This is the first book out of 4 (not counting the spin off which is book 5) and it is so so so short, i made the fatal mistake of finishing this one without having the others ready to dive straight into which is such a rookie mistake that i am now suffering through. So much happened considering all of the world building and character introductions that were being made, and i don't feel like there was too much of a dull moment at all. We get to know our female cupid as well as some fae royalty (assholes) and 3 extremely hot potential love interests.
The only way i can describe our cupid character is being very similar to Bryce Quinn(lyn?) from House of Earth and Blood. They have the same kind of humor and attitude, party animals who does have a serious streak when they wanna, stubborn but loyal to a fault.

Cannot wait to start reading the rest of the series and finding out what the relationship is gonna be like between all these characters, as well as her cupid not cupid status and if any of the characters are gonna get in trouble with members of the royal court lol
