This book is so good! It was very light and tackled serious topics in a very gentle approach. Noni was not the not-like-the-other-girls main character that is often written these days. She had real problems and actually sounded like an adult woman. I'm definitely keeping this book and probably reading again!

“I realise I’ve been using other people as my biggest pleasure centre my whole life, to validate me. And I’ve been letting their acceptance or rejection of me dictate my value.”

I absolutely loved this lighthearted, warm hug of a book! This is an adventurous story of Noni, bisexual and recently single. It’s about friendship, love but most of all learning to love yourself.

I really enjoyed the audiobook version and sped through this wanting to find out more about Noni and the next steps on her pleasure quest around Europe. I thought the character development was excellent as Noni learned to put herself first rather than catering for other people’s needs.

If you’re in the mood for something light I recommend this one!

“I think aging is actually just about getting used to yourself, you know? Getting used to the way you are, the way you work, the way you process things, the weird things that make you unique. I think we spend so much time early on figuring that out [...] or fighting against it."

This one checked off so many boxes on my list:

slightly older MC and love interest

tattoos

bucket lists

saying no to that person in your life who has always been a “will they won’t they” lurker!

Watching Noni take the European vacation of a lifetime after the ending of her almost-decade long relationship was a sweet delight. She is our cinnamon roll. For all its charm though, I think that this book may resonate a little less with American readers than it did in its originally published Australia; the idea that a PUBLIC school teacher would have the funds, job security, and healthcare required to take off for 6 months locates this book in the fantasy section versus the romance.
