Unlike other reviewers, I actually liked that Anatomy got a sequel and it had great potential. The plot switches to London, we meet new characters and there are new mysteries.

One of the biggest ones is Princess Charlotte and her illness and without spoiling anything, as a chronically ill woman, the "solution" to her problem was such a cop-out and just straight up disappointing.

There's also a group full of other immortal philosophers, scientists and the like and I really enjoyed that plot but the end was so dramatic with them lmao.

My main issue was probably that it took so long for Jack to arrive again (after all, this is called "A Love Story") and you really spend all the time leading up to it just "???? why are all these other people here". It takes Jack & Hazel way too long to get back to their former relationship and then the ending with them.felt really rushed sadly.

I'm not sure how this could've been handled better, maybe as a shorter novella or a longer book to explore Hazel and Jack's new relationship more but this way just didn't work as smoothly.

Perfectly good and fun story. Not as captivating as the first one somehow.

Badass female surgeon Hazel Sinnett is back!  In this follow-up to Dana Schwartz’s bestselling Anatomy, Hazel is forced to trade her practical trousers for custom-made dresses when she is summoned to London to treat an ailing princess.  As she’s faced with a new medical mystery, Hazel labors over her thesis and finds herself in both a love triangle and a secret society.  This duology’s conclusion ponders prisons of circumstance, irreversible actions, and the meaning of love.  If you’re dying to know the rest of Hazel and Jack’s story, this utterly readable sequel is just what the doctor ordered.

The love story in this book isn’t as enrapturing as the first book but still such a fun and enjoyable read since it made up for that with the sprinkling of diversity and representation that the first one lacked. I enjoyed the
secret society
. I love, love Simon and hope if there is a third book, that we learn more of him. I’m crossing my fingers that Dana wants to write a third!
