This is a really unusual context for a romance novel and deals with some challenging issues. It is well written and I appreciated that the author didn't just write a bland 'everything was roses' ending when Kasi had spent 2 years deeply traumatized by events in her life.

The book is written 1st person from dual POV's and I actually preferred Jae's narration. I liked Kasi - and the bedtime story scene moved me to tears - but I struggled to connect with her emotionally at times.

I did find the dialogue a little stilted at times - words needed to be contracted 'Yes, I will be here' would scan easier if it had been 'Yes, I'll be there'. However this is a minor issue and other than this the dialogue was very real.

This wasn't an edge of your seat, flipping pages rapidly book but it is a very enjoyable read. It wasn't too run of the mill either, there were a lot of unusual and unique ideas in the book. The author had planned the book well and the story flowed nicely. It was nice to have a relationship that developed 'normally' over weeks and months, no instant love or sex here.

The love scenes were very gentle and the author didn't feel the need to use 'swear' words to describe body parts.

I hope we see more of Kasi and Jae when we find out who his brother's fall in love with.
