Light-hearted, steamy, surprising, and unsurprising at the same time. This book was both a hit and a miss for me.
What I loved was the MC Bridget and the fact that she and Rhys weren't the usual damsel in distress x rich bad guy couple. Bridget had actual good qualities such as a love for animals, being a reliable friend, and just seeming like an overall decent human being. Rhys wasn't your usual love interest either. He was a kind (while curt and moody) person and was interested in finding true connection rather than just sex. The characters in this book were likeable and well written.
Sadly, I was a bit disappointed with the plot and the relationship progression. It felt like they were into each other pretty much from the getgo and the long time jumps made me feel like I've missed a lot of important relationship building. The spicy scenes also weren't exactly my cup of tea, they felt repetitive and the wording was a bit cheesy. The general plot besides the romance didn't grip me at all.
Recommending this book for people that want a steamy, quick read that isn't toxic or abuse-y. Don't recommend for people that are looking for slow burns or a good plot besides the romance.

If I asked ChatGPT to write me an adult version of the last two books of the selection, it would give me this and I ate it up.
I’m not calling myself a romance reader nor am I a fan of Ana Huang (I have no intention of reading the rest of her books, save for maybe the Striker because it’s about a dancer). I have just been seeing so many edits of this book/out of context quotes that I just had to pick it up and lose some brain cells. I was also in a reading slump even though I’m literally reading a decent book right now, and this was the fun distraction that I needed.
Easy quick read but now all I can think about it is Rhys “you and me against the world princess,” Larsen.
Also I read this online. Don’t worry, I didn’t waste $15 on it. No comment otherwise…

In my opinion the writing seems lazy and simply boring. The character's lack depth and the relationship lacks substance. Most of their relationship is based on sex with little romance. Rhys describes Bridget as a strong, resilient woman with a heart of fire and I have a hard time seeing that. The same with Rhys, I can't see what Bridget sees in him. I also don't understand the time skips. If I remember correctly Rhys and Bridget have known eachother for 2+ years and yet it still seems like they hardly know eachother and the time spent together has contributed little to their relationship. Idk I'm struggling to even finish this book. It seems like most people have enjoyed this though so maybe I'm missing its appeal.

After reading Twisted Love I was scared I also wouldnt like this one but this one surprised me. I enjoyed the characters and how they were together, I enjoyed the story. There were still some big red flags from the male lead and the whole half cousin thing that was never addressed? interesting, it also had a few boring bits but its so far the better Twisted book so far.

So I didn’t like the book. I mean at first it was okay but then when Bridget int Rhys started a relationship it all fell down. So Bridget said that she doesn’t want other people to tell her how she should live, what she should do and who she should date. But Rhys did exactly those things. He told her, that she was his and she shouldn’t let any other man touch her or something like that, and during the spice scenes he always told her what she should do or he will punish her. He ordered her in everything. He told her she shouldn’t be with Steffan (I shipped Bridget and Steffan lol). And then he just ordered her around. And then when she told him to go and never let her see again he said no you said you were mine. Like he literally made her say this. I liked Rhys at first but then he just became so possessive and horny and everything. He was such a BIG RED FLAG. I mean I’m sorry but you are a body guard and you can’t order a future queen around like that. Also I think that he preferred looks over personality, because he just kept saying how pretty face she had, and how pretty the dress fitted her and he will rip it of later. Or maybe he was just being horny. So yes I did not like it. I have read Twisted love already and I think that it’s better than Twisted games (but it was still kind of bad). So I’m not really sure if I will continue those series, because the characters just kept disappointing me.

this book low key was actually pretty decent considering the type of book it is!!!! i actually LOVED bridget she was such a good female MC and wasn’t boring at all. rhys was also scrumptious and whilst he was overprotective he had more reasons to justify it (than stupid alex) and he’s actually just a big teddy bear. ana really decided to turn the dial up with the smut though because holy shit
