A bit too cheesy. A bit unbelievable. Would make a dope Hallmark movie.

I saw the potential in this book, but something just fell short. The concept was right up my alley for a rom-com—two people born on the same day at the same hospital meet when they’re 30 and fall in love, but little do they know that their lives have intersected throughout the years.

My main issue with the story was that the author tried to be deep, but just broached certain topics and didn’t actually delve into them. Like the backstory with Quinn and Minnie’s families. There was fodder for thought there, but it wasn’t explored enough for it to have any real meaning in the story. Therefore it seemed thrown in for the sole purpose of justifying dumb decisions that the characters would make. Also it just left a lot of questions, the primary one being why?

The writing was pretty good though, so when Quinn and Minnie were together there was tension and chemistry which I enjoyed.

I mean I wanted to love it but...

I listened to the book so maybe that made the time jumps difficult to keep straight. This was just missing something for me. But thank you for getting Quinn into therapy to realize his whiplash behavior wasn’t fair to anyone, including himself.

This story was enjoyable to read (for the most part). The romance aspects of the story were absolutely captivating, and I was constantly amused by these characters. However, I did not like that the story seemed to be extended for no apparent reason. It could have ended at the logical time and then spent more time in the relationship. I also thought the use of British terms was very excessive and hindering to the story. I understand Cousens is from London, but it distracted from the plot. Given that it’s also her first novel, I’m not giving up on her books though.

Cute- I wished there would have been more depth to the plot but overall cute romance!

It was a cute concept but it didn’t make me swoon as much as I would like in a romance.
