Good story, but gets a bit muddled in how “cool” it’s being. My experience may have suffered a bit since it was my side book, and thus I kinda picked up to read a bit here and there. I’m still gonna check out more of the series, but this volume veers closer the Dresden Files territory of, “I’m a tough guy no one understands and I have to make that clear with every single detail”.
Fun, but overly cool at times.

This book is brilliant - if you like pulp horror novels about LA and don't mind lots of violence.

Enjoyable new series with a memorable opening. However, the further I went into it, the more I felt it would've been so much better had I read the 1st in the series beforehand.

Just such a fab series! James Stark, aka Sandman Slim, has a notoriety now and is working for Lucifer as a bodyguard while Lucifer is makin' deals....movie deals...up top. It's not an easy gig and Stark has his hands full.
Vampires, summoned demons, various factions of kisser-uppers...and plenty of zombie action. Superb superb superb!!
