I've never before read a book quite like this one. Maybe it was Jibade's human side that appealed to me, or his undying devotion to the Family that has owned him for centuries. His story is fascinating and I was drawn in as I continued along. I loved the take on the inhuman traits of the OuHor Kem and their multi-faceted abilities, and yet their ability to live on a human world. The only complaint that I have is that the story ended with a cliff hanger! I can't wait to read more from this author.
