Started strong continuing straight from the last book. Bek is an interesting one to follow and his choices had consequences that he learnt throughout the book. Ellie was also a unique character to follow as a slave since she was a child. Again these books are lighthearted but they do explore and explain some darker topics. I do wish Ellie was given some freedom before resonating as it did seem she went from one prison to another- straight into a relationship and having kids with a stranger who was also the guy who bought you.....

Ruby Dixon's ability to make every one of these stories so different and yet the same is a gift. Each of these characters has their own challenges and their journey's are so different from each other.

Ellie has just arrived on this planet after having been a slave to several different alien's for most of her adult life. She trusts no one and almost never talks. She hides beneath layers and layers of dirt.
When Bek buys her and several other females to see if they will be mates for himeself and others, he just thinks he's doing the right thing by bringing women here who can be happy and make his friends happy. He doesn't understand what a slave is or what Ellie has endured. There is no such thing as slaves in his little village, and he's never heard of mistreating women.
Their journey to understanding one another and forgiving one another is a beautiful one.
