Fast and enjoyable read. Really well written. I didn't realize until I was about halfway through that this is ghostwritten by JR Moehringer, whose own memoir I have coincidentally been reading for the last few weeks.
I don't read enough memoirs to really have a strong take on this, but it feels like Moehringer is just an excellent memoirist. The story is well told, and the combination of good writing and curiosity about this mega-brand kept me hooked.
It's an interesting story, a business book for sure but not too navel-gazing or technical. I can't say it pierced me, but I did have takeaways. Knight's focus and drive, the willingness to take on lots of risk, the strong belief and reliance in a small group of foundational people. I really want to take a trip around the world. And the call to action at the end of the book, to find a 'calling' rather than a career... well, I'll try
