TLDR; I wouldn't recommend for or against someone reading the novel. I should have left this one unfinished when it failed to hook me by the halfway point. I also saw other trusted reader friends had given it a lower rating, but for whatever reason I carried on and it was... just OK.
I would have expected a book centered so heavily around death to inspire some kind of emotional response while reading, but the story and characters fell flat for me. It's written well enough and spotlights a cool career, plus there are a bunch of high ratings from others here so clearly it resonated with some people, just not for me.

I really enjoyed this book, it warmed my heart. I approached death from a new perspective and it made me think about all the other things I haven't considered. Clover was lovely and I really enjoyed watching her start to live a beautiful life at the end.

“Grief is just love looking for a place to settle.” I especially loved the last half of this book, a beautiful reminder that we’re all more connected than we often realize and to live life with fewer regrets. 4.5 ⭐️
