Read as an audiobook. I liked this book but felt it didn't quite know where it was going at times. As the first novel by this author, I can understand how some characters felt a little stereotypical and some of the story arcs felt a little awkward and forced. Overall, this was light chick lit with interesting characters and a deeper premise than I anticipated. The deeper themes of living / dying, regret and opportunity were what saved this book for me. I would call this a good read, and possibly a great read for a book club, as it's an easy read but you could get into a discussion on the deeper themes within the book.

I needed a break from bleak and depressing books, but I just couldn't get into this one. I actually got bored and skipped about 100 pages, and I had barely missed any action. I read a chapter, skipped a few more, and read the ending. It wasn't bad; it's just not my kind of book.
