I understand that it’s fun to hate on characters in stories. But I had a tough time rooting for anyone in this book. Also, the language use to talk about sex and bodies was SO overdone and graphic without needing to be. Definitely a twist I didn’t see coming
Graphic: Cursing, Death, Domestic abuse, Drug abuse, Emotional abuse, Infidelity, Misogyny, Physical abuse, Sexual content, Toxic relationship, Violence, Blood, Police brutality, Stalking, Death of parent, Murder, Pregnancy, Gaslighting, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Child abuse, Hate crime, Alcohol

Jeneva Rose • The Perfect Marriage
This book felt like it was written as a show/movie instead of a book. Like the author was preemptively expecting a movie deal.
Would you defend your husband if he was accused of killing his mistress? Criminal defense attorney Sarah Morgan is in that very position. Her husband is accused of killing his mistress and she’s the only one capable of defending him. Is her husband innocent or did he really kill his mistress?
I liked the story in The Perfect Marriage. I think it was wildly unrealistic but that’s the point of fiction. There was a small part of the book that I felt was eerily similar to a storyline in Suits, the lawyer TV show, but I can get past that.
I picked the ending almost immediately which was super disappointing but I still liked how it played out. I would happily read more by Jeneva Rose.

How was this published? Worst book I’ve read
This was a good one. I read it quickly. However, I did figure out "who dun it" about halfway through the book, which is never fun for me, and why it was given three stars. I wish it had made me use my brain a bit more.
Okay, Grace can call me out all she wants and I agree, it was an okay book. But I did still have a fun time reading it. I didn’t however get the twist at the end for some reason?? I haven’t read many thrillers. The ending was messed up though and I guess it also explains the random sex scene with an unknown person??? The book definitely did drag on at times and could have been a lot shorter. Overall, a fun read if you want a thriller that you don’t have to think too much about. (She still could have ended up with a better guy than she did though)
