A very interesting look into what inspired Rick to become a travel writer. It was very interesting to get a look at a world before irans Islamic revolution, Afghanistan war, and USSR collapse. I was surprised when Rick was a bit insensitive, like him taking pictures of people like they were tourist traps, but this was early in his life in the 70’s, so I think it’s understandable. High recommend to anyone interested in travel stories!
