I picked this book up on a whim from my library’s new books bookshelf. I have to say it’s one of the best books I’ve read in a long time! Loosely based on a true historical event, it details the journey of Marion separating from her family and following her dancing dream. There were little twists throughout that kept me reading. It did not end like I thought It would. I really recommend if you’re into historical fiction with mystery and twists!

This book was comfort.  Even though the story was fiction, I felt like I still learned some things about the Rockettes and things in the New York City area during this time period.  I was a bit surprised by the turn it took, but that definitely brought more interest into it.  I'd recommend this book to those who enjoy historical fiction with a bit of romance.

This is the third book I have read by this author. They are all set in New York City, and since that is a place that I love, they usually really work for me. This one was no exception.

This one, as the others by her that I have read, is dual timeline, though most of it is set in the earlier timeline. It was such a good read. I was interested throughout and really invested in the characters. There were a couple of parts that were a little over the top. And, I really would have liked an epilogue for Piper, to see how her career was going a year or two out.

All in all, this was a great book. Now, I'm just waiting for her next one!

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the ARC.
