We finally find out something about Frieda's past and childhood! And it doesn't make her any more likeable. 🙄

I'm really enjoying this series and Frieda's long story arc. Her friends and family around her are so real, I'm looking forward to the next book

Well written like the others.. A good story about her past... But nothing really special...

I jumped into this not realising it was part of a series and as such it did reveal some fairly crucial bits of information if I were to go back to earlier books. Frieda Klein has to deal with her past catching up with her when she returns back to a home town she fled 23 years earlier. The relationships with people she hadn't met for 23 years were easier to follow than some of her friends as I don't know the history of the previous books, but some of them I was quite curious about. It's well written (and not too gory) so I probably will try and pick up some more books by the Nicci French team.

Good handling of a difficult subject (rape) and an interesting look into Frieda's past. Am still quite enjoying the series, but my question here: Why did he do it? What is our perpetrator's motivation? Is it just because he's a psychopath? Which works, but why did he begin? The reason given out of his own mouth in the story felt a little weak. Perhaps I'm nitpicking. Immediately picked up the next book in the series and am eager to get all the answers and all the resolution.
