Never read the Whispering Pines Ranch? It's ok! This installment can be read as a stand alone!
Ok-
So I had this book sitting on my shelf staring at me since 2012. I vowed i would read this story, I started then I stopped. You see, I had a hard time conniving myself to read this because I knew too much about this couple going in. I knew that Conner was going to lose John ( a character I grew to adore since book 1) and I, like Conner, was not ready to say goodbye to him. I just couldn't do it.
So the years passed, the book sat on my shelf and I went on reading other stories unwilling to deal with John and Conner's story. Fate apparently got pissed and decided to intervene. You see, I attended GRL this year and was fortunate to meet S.J.D. Peterson, in the flesh. I spoke with her and told her how much I loved her books, how much I adore Lorcan (Whispering Pines 1) and how cowardly I have been in regards to Conner's book. Peterson encouraged me to read the story. She confided that it was her favorite in the series and once I heard those words I decided then and there I would read it.
It took years but I finally read it and... I COULD KICK MYSELF FOR WAITING SO LONG TO DO SO! This book has meat on it's bones. The characters are all fully developed/ believable / likable. This book pushed every single one of my buttons. I laughed, I cried, I got angry and when I read the end? I smiled. The book I dreaded most in this series has turned out to be my favorite. It reads realistically, it speaks to the heart and by the time you turn the last page, you too will want to experience a love like Conner's and will be unwilling to settle for less.
Read it!
