This was an absolutely lovely twist on the Cinderella fairytale and while mildly predictable that actually worked in its favor to be an easy comfort fantasy read.

I felt the YA angle a little more on this one, which isn't inherently a bad thing, just took me out of the story a bit. I continue to appreciate the ways that Atwater weaves in the stories of non-titled individuals in this series, and there's an incredible union/community flare to this story that I wish was in more HistRoms. However, her pacing felt less smooth in this novel than the previous in the series.
