These books are so much better than I expected. I went in not expecting much (they're written by an actor and for children - what were you expecting?), but I love them so much! And the ending was just wonderful. I love positive lessons and messages in books, and these deliver.
I am a total sucker for happy endings and this was happy as hell :) At first I thought that the trilogy is going to be boring but here I am finishing the last book and it was awesome! I would recommend it to every kid and book-loving grown-up because the stories had heart and wiseness and superb characters :)
I’m so happy with this series! The entire moral of the story and especially the ending of the trilogy is so wholesome, it ended on the perfect note.

I didn't like this one as much as the others but I think it's just because I forgot too much. I'm gonna have to re-read the whole trilogy. Maybe next Halloween?
Oh boy, this book..........I only read it because my 5th graders begged me. It was definitely a snoozer in my opinion. It was not very original and very formulaic. It didn't have any surprises and didn't change anything from the previous two books.
An interesting edition to the series. Charlie and his friends have trapped Ink in their world, while Ick is still stuck in the Nightmare world. Charlie hasn’t been dreaming, or even having his own nightmares, he keeps getting trapped in Ick’s. A great story to wrap up the series and fun for those who have read the rest.
While this book starts out engaging, the second act is a slog to even read, much less enjoy, and by the end, I couldn't find it in myself to care about these characters or their story. Charlie (the main character) proves once again how much he lacks empathy for others when he directs all of his half-formed suspicions at those close to him, including his loyal friends and brother, who continue to put up with him even though he offers nothing unique and is just moody and frustrated with them a lot. Also, this book spends barely any time in the Nightmare world, even less than the previous book. The book's climax and resolution happened so fast and with so little impact that I could barely tell it happened, an awful closer to a 1000 page trilogy. It felt rushed, yet I can name plenty of other "events" that did nothing to progress the plot and feel like they're just attempting to pad the book's runtime. The dialogue is extremely expositional in some places, and extremely cringe-worthy in others. Finally, none of the unique themes from the original are preserved. There are things I like about this book, but they can't put any dent in my feelings about this. In my opinion, it's the second book but worse. I can smell the wasted potential.
