I would never have picked up a Colleen Hoover book in my life if my friend hadn't loaned it to me with enthusiastic praise. I didn't expect to like it much based on what I had heard of Hoover's books, but I could hardly put this down. Reminds me of how I would read entire Fear Street books in a single sitting. I thought I had lost that energy for reading but I guess with the right kinda book it can still be done. I'm not gonna try to say this story is good. It's incredibly silly and absolutely unhinged, but so fun to read. Much dumber than my Fear Street books, too. I just couldn't believe the audacity. I have read great writing, writing that inspires me and impresses me and that I truly admire. I wouldn't say this book has any of that but despite that it still held my attention better. My main complaint is that I was really hoping for something spooky but even without that, I wasn't too disappointed. I've read bad books and hated them, but this is one of those instances where the badness is actually what makes it entertaining.

This book was actually insane. Absolutely disturbing and one of the best plot twists I've ever read.

Eh this wasn’t it for me. It was a quick read (think I read it in three days) but there wasn’t nearly enuf smut and the plot wasn’t my jam. Not interested in murders or mysteries unless there’s a ton of sex scenes to make up for it. However another book down in the challenge 🤩
