pretty basic thriller that doesn't really do anything new. contrary to popular opinion i liked the ending.
Spoiler
i love it when seemingly good characters mistakenly kill someone for no good reason. it is so terrifying and horrible to think about

TRIGGER WARNING: this is super dark! Involves child death and keep that in mind if you have kids or are pregnant. I would imagine this would be a difficult one to read in those cases.
I listened to this on audible and I will say it had me on my toes! If did keep me engaged but the subject material was dark. This was nothing what I was expecting some parts made me sick. I love a good thriller but this was too much for me

I usually go for the more light-hearted, happy ending books so this was a little out of my comfort zone, but I still could not put it down. By the end I was left thinking "Did I just read this for literally nothing? Why on earth was there a letter? If this was a perfect romance novel there wouldn't have been that last piece about going back to check on the house and finding that letter." However, even though there was a letter, I believe in the manuscript because I think Verity was a very manipulative person. We know she wrote that letter while Jeremy was with Lowen in the master bedroom, she could have written it as a way to make Jeremy feel guilty once he turned her in for the murder of their daughter. When I got to the end I realized how intense the whole book was and how I had read it in such a short amount of time. This was partly because Lowen read the manuscript too damn slow. If I were her I would have read it in one night and then left that house immediately, but I guess that made the story go on longer and made me keep reading to find out what came next in Verity and Jeremy's life. Anyways, this story was extremely creative and deserves 5 stars.
Way too sexist and ableist and classist for me.

I don’t read this author but my friend recommended and let me borrow her book. I did not expect that last twist at the end!! It made me question everything
