Liked: Illustrations, especially Ladybug Girl's very expressive eyes.

Didn't like: The font, and the way it kept changing color and size. I'm not a fan of this trend in children's books.

All in all, it was a fun, creative story.

A little slow to get started but Ladybug Girl makes the best of her alone time.

A perfect picture book. Just enough story. Great perspective in the illustrations. And an authentic day in the life of a little kid. And no lessons to be learned. Hurrah!

My 9-year old gravitated to this character, Lulu, more than she did towards Fancy Nancy. This little girl modeled independence the ability to be creative and resourceful on her own, which is so realistic in society today, where most households are of two working parents. This book/character truly celebrate the imagination in every child. I love that this book shows children that they can use their imagination to create an epic adventure out of almost nothing and in every situation! Children who love the outdoors will also relate to this book.

This book is WONDERFUL! M picked it out at the library and we fell in love with it instantly. It's got a female protagonist who dresses up and makes her own independent fun, who loves the outdoors and isn't pink and sparkly (rather, she's red and sparkly, and since red is M's favorite color, that's perfect!) but is just her own spunky self.

Lulu is a free-spirited young girl in her ladybug costume looking for something to do. Mama and Papa are busy and tell her to go make her own fun. She asks her brother if she can play baseball with him and his friends, but he says “No, you’re too little.” Ladybug girl is sad, but only for a little bit. Bingo her trusty dog leads her outside, and there Ladybug Girl makes her own fun rescuing ants, repairing a fort, walking along a fallen log without falling. By the end of the morning Ladybug Girl knows she is definitely not to little.

This is a cute book. Lulu's brother tells her that she's to little to play baseball with him, but Lulu dressed as Ladybug girl knows that she's not little. Ladybug girl can do anything.
