I can definitely see why this is so highly acclaimed, lots to like about it, but in the end I don’t think it was for me.

I gave it 4 stars because I can recognize that it is objectively well written, and the horror of area X was really gripping and morbidly captivating. My issue was mostly the writing style not being my personal taste (lots of drawn out descriptions, which makes sense for the narrative).

I might continue the series, but will take a break before that since this was a bit of a tedious read.
