The series overall: 3/5 ⭐︎
This book: 3.75/5 ⭐︎

I really, REALLY, wanted to love this series. I've seen so many fantastic fanarts and people praising it. But sadly, I just don't really get it. The characters were flawed, which should make them interesting, but it didn't really. I feel like nothing really happens for like 80% of the books. The remaining 20% are just really intense, and I feel like the series lack a balance.

The thing that kept me going was the fact that the third book was supposed to be really good, but then it fell flat for me. I thought that the book would be more tense and angsty - and it was, just not for like 80% of the book. Neil was kidnapped, tortured, and saved, all in the SAME chapter?? I also don't really get the whole hype about 'Andreil'. I feel like they're toxic for each other? Maybe I'm misinterpreting things, but a LOT of the characters are just not very likeable (except the girls, I stan the girls).

Anyways, I like the concept of the series, but I do think that I've been gaslighted by my Twitter to enjoy the series more than I actually would have otherwise. With all that said, it's not a series I would necessarily recommend, but it was a nice read to pass the time.

The Foxes are horrible little bastards. I would die for them.

Is this book, nay, this series absolutely ridiculous in plot and logic? absolutely. some day it’s unrealistic, but it gives it such a charm. it’s so out there and insane that you know the stakes are literally limitless. the characters and interactions between the foxes have me swinging from laughter to crying to screaming. my brain chemistry has been altered.
