Someone said: “This is a mess, but so am I.” and I live by that.

Update: I’m now depressed and in a slump because of this trilogy. I don’t want to pick up any other book and just want to reread this again. And I never reread books so that tells you something. Idk what, but something.

Reread Update: Yeah I reread this to start 2021 right. This trilogy is the second book EVER that I have reread. Even better on the second read since I flew through the trilogy in 48 hours the first time. This time I took time and even annotated the books. Man, Niel Josten is just such a good boy, I love him so much. The characters in these books are what does it for me, if I’m being honest. There’s nothing really riveting about them but they’re my babies and I’ll kill for them.

The only reason why I interrupted reading this was because life got in the way. I got addicted to this story and didn’t want to stop.
The torture scenes were quite a bit too gruesome for me, but other than that I devoured this book.
Neil and Andrew’s relationship is so beautifully complicated I couldn’t get enough of it. So many things are going on between them and still there is an easiness between them that is just delightful.
I feel like I still don’t know enough about some of the other characters. We got such a detailed version of Neil, Kevin, Andrew and Aaron that the others seem lacking in comparison. Which is such a shame because they all have so much potential to be more deeply discovered. No wonder there’s so much content from this fandom. These characters invite you to discover them and their relationships further.
Maybe these weren’t very well written books, but they were so enjoyable and just take you in. As I heard someone say “these books are to be enjoyed, not admired” and I have to 100% agree to that.

Just reread it and this book is honestly so great.
The story is exiting and the characters are just so damn lovable. But it also makes you think about your own life. Am I Running away from something? Do I let people in or do I close myself off? Do I ask for help when I need it? Am I okay? Can I change my future? Am I living my life?
It also shows how people react differently to trauma and how they deal with it.
And just a little fyi Wymack is my absolute favourite character
Best found family book

Tw: violence, drug use, alcohol, sexual assault/violence

Hello I LOVE this series, I read it in like 3 days between uni and work, lost so much sleep over it that I felt sick for a while but man, was it worth it. Every thought in my pea sized brain is Andrew Minyard and I wouldn’t have it any other way. (Can’t really understand people who say it’s written like a fanfiction as if that’s a bad thing - as far as I understood, the author is self-published so how can you not support that, especially when the characters are so fleshed out. Believability of the story is arguable but that’s not the reason I read it) I have nothing bad to say. Nothing. Effective immediately, one of my all time favourite series.
