Finding out that this was originally supposed to be a manga explained everything and now I’m revising all my reviews to give it 5 stars because it is so fun. Truly the Riverdale of books. Bending the rules of reality because the author has never lived in reality.

Important: Do NOT take this as me recommending the series. Unless you’re my friend and you’re funny.

the romance in this is perfect. the ship owns me completely. they’re unconventional to romance books standards but they’re absolutely perfect. all of the characters deserve the world. many of them are morally grey, and the plot is pretty well paced as well.

I wish I could rate a book above 5 stars but I will just say that since finishing this, I have gone back and re-listened to Chapter 14 twice on the audio (plus a small amount of 15) and then relistened to the whole second half of this book just so I could cry.  Like the hangover is so real.

These Absolute GD Disasters.  I do not believe anyone trying to tell me that there is a better relationship than Andreil. I don't care what you say. You cannot convince me. I love them. I would do anything for them. I would face the Mafia and Renee on their behalf I do not care.

You thought the torture was bad in The Raven King? Funny. That was nothing. Nora was just warming up for when Neil's countdown ends.  Like please remove that section from my brain because I will never be the same. We thought Neil had a lot of scars at the beginning of the series (:.

Anyway Sober Andrew is everything to me. 5 feet of pure fury and protectiveness please let this boy be happy. Also the changing dynamics between Andrew and Aaron after the second book are amazing and I love them! And Kevin-Queen of Exy-Day? Absolute treasure. I--the development. Of these characters. My life.

If anyone needs me I'll be rereading this until my eyes bleed, kthxbai.

The only reason why I interrupted reading this was because life got in the way. I got addicted to this story and didn’t want to stop.
The torture scenes were quite a bit too gruesome for me, but other than that I devoured this book.
Neil and Andrew’s relationship is so beautifully complicated I couldn’t get enough of it. So many things are going on between them and still there is an easiness between them that is just delightful.
I feel like I still don’t know enough about some of the other characters. We got such a detailed version of Neil, Kevin, Andrew and Aaron that the others seem lacking in comparison. Which is such a shame because they all have so much potential to be more deeply discovered. No wonder there’s so much content from this fandom. These characters invite you to discover them and their relationships further.
Maybe these weren’t very well written books, but they were so enjoyable and just take you in. As I heard someone say “these books are to be enjoyed, not admired” and I have to 100% agree to that.
