Very silly story about a pig who loves buttered toast and the hapless humans in her life. The illustrations are adorable!

Cute chapter book written for young children. I would have loved this series when I was little.

November 2016 - I checked out a few shorter chapter books with the idea of reading them to Ben when he's taking forever eating a meal, and this was our first try, although at snacktime on a day when I knew I wouldn't be home for bedtime stories. We ended up reading the whole thing in one sitting. Perfect balance of text and pictures to hold Ben's attention, and funny. The chapters mean it would also work well over several sittings.

Maddie came home talking about this book so we decided to read it together.

5 year old review: “It was SO good!”

Mom review: that was so silly! Beautiful color illustrations. Would be a good introduction to chapter books.

Quick read for Battle of the Books. It's a cute book for beginning chapter readers.

OK this was too cute with a sweet piggy that like hot buttered toast. I borrowed it via Hoopla and noticed a "read along" button. Wondering what that was, I clicked it and got a delightful surprise! A man with many great voices read the book to me and the pages turned themselves automatically. I didn't have to do anything except look at the cute illustrations! I was 7 years old again.

This book was a perfect read-aloud for my 4.5 year old. It’s an early chapter book, so 12 chapters, but each is only a few pages long, and there are color illustrations on every page. This book is funny, and introduces an array of quirky characters.

Mercy Watson's family are in a precarious situation and require rescuing. Mercy doesn't hesitate to run for help from the Lincoln sisters. The story has hot buttered toast, two firefighters set to rescue Mr. and Mrs. Watson, the grumpy Eugenia Lincoln and her kind sister, Baby. A fun read with wonderful illustrations.

Both my 3 year and old and 7 year old really enjoyed the book.

To explain my daughter read the book to both of us! She wanted to read it, and therefore it gets an obvious 4 stars!
