“It is quite a revelation to discover that the place you wanted to escape to is the exact same place you escaped from. That the prison wasn’t the place, but the perspective. And the most peculiar discovery Nora made was that, of all the extremely divergent variations of herself she had experienced, the most radical sense of change happened within the exact same life. The one she began and ended with.”

The journey we took through the book to reach this point was intriguing, rich, thought-provoking.

The book is transparently metaphorical but can also be read as a fantasy book.

This book was very enjoyable and fascinating to read. It affected the way I see life and now I feel less regretful of decisions I’ve made and will make in the future. The writing style is easy to understand and the theme the author is trying to convey is something I really think is important. Definitely recommend (especially for people who want to explore different possibilities and meanings to life).

I LOVED the concept of the book and how it explores the headspace between life and death. This is a quick read and fairly engaging.

For me, the book fell a little flat because it's on the shorter side -- the premise of parallel universes is interesting and has a lot of potential, but each parallel universe the main character visits doesn't truly feel fleshed out, and personally it felt like the author was rushing through it. I also felt that the Noras in the parallel universes felt too successful/predictable and I wish that the author took us through scenarios where she tried and failed at something, and ended up in a completely unexpected life scenario.

Overall though, the book was enjoyable.

This is one of those books that you NEED to read several times throughout your life, every five or so years, because you'll take a different thing away from it each time. It could just be that I read it at a time when I needed to see what happens when you explore different lives, but I don't think that time ever ends, not  or anyone. Can't wait to read this again in a few years, has at many gems of wisdom within it.

Slow to start. Picked up a little at the halfway point.
