Hardly recall anything from this book. Whoops!
Absolutely loved this whole series; the writing is impeccable and beautiful and so intriguing, I was always itching to read it as soon as I put it down. The whole series is so unbelievably unsettling, I honestly don’t think a book has ever freaked me out this much in my entire life. It’s done so incredible well and doesn’t always use outright horror or gore to make you feel uneasy or scared. I’m so sad I won’t get to read anything like this again, but it was such a pleasure, this series has definitely solidified its place in my top 3 sci-fi/horror favourites.
My ONLY negative with this book was the second half from Lowry’s POV, the constant swearing made it almost unreadable to the point I was skim reading some of his parts. It did get better and I completely understand this was done for a reason but I was suffering through the second half.
That being said, this will be a story I will never forget and will always think about, so hauntingly beautiful and depressing also, dare I say it is a masterpiece.
