This book was grotesque and I had a hard time getting through it, but it was still well-written and gave some of the answers I wanted about Area X. It was just so brutal and vulgar, a true horror. Though it was a prequel, it was a grand finale to this series. There are some parts I hope dearly never to dream about.

I can't fucking do it. I don't fucking know what the fucking fuck got into Jeff when he was fuck fuck fuck writing the last fucking third of this book but I fuck can't fuck take fuck it fuck anymore.

In all seriousness, this book was fine. The middle section was really enjoyable, up there with my favorite moments of the series, but the end is maybe the most I've hated anything I've ever read and I could not bring myself to suffer through all of it.

This raises the question: is the first book really a feminist sci-fi if every other book after it in the series centers men with fucked-up, obsessive relationships to women?

The first section is phenominal, the middle section is a drag, and the last section activly pissed me off. IDK 'bout this one squad.
