Steal My Heart

A new series by Laura Pavlov and I loved the first instalment I could not read it fast enough!
Small town setting with a grumpy MMC and some fun banter between the two main characters.
Introductions to what i can only assume will be future books for Easton’s brothers. I liked that our FMC was a strong character even if she was more junior in the workplace.

I received this book as an ARC and provide an honest review.

"It had taken me a long time to find someone worth taking a risk for. And I was going to hold on tight."

This small town, work place romance was a quick and fun read. I liked the chemistry between Easton & Henley and their banter was entertaining. And Henley was amazing, I liked how smart, sorted and confident she was. Everyone in Easton's family was also very good and I liked their bonding. But Easton however was kind of hard to like. His whole past was also very predictable and the push and pull game he played with Henley was annoying tbh. Still, overall I enjoyed reading this book but I expected something more considering I loved the Magnolia Falls series by the author. So I'd give it 3.5 stars. ✨

“You walked into my life and stole my f***ing heart, Henley. I didn’t even know it still worked. But it’s yours.”

Um... Hello Easton and Henley. I feel like I have been waiting for Easton's book for quite some time, as we got a preview of him and the Chadwick's in the Magnolia Falls Series.

I feel like this was a solid start to the series and a great introduction to the characters I know we will come to love. First, let me say that I do feel like there were a couple of times throughout the book where things happened "out of order" so to speak, and I found myself asking "how did we get here?" However, I genuinely did love these characters and their story.

Henley was so strong and hardworking, even though with her money she had no reason to be. I love that she wanted to make her own way in the world. Homegirl was out to prove herself. Easton... well how could we not love a broody mmc? He did give a bit of whiplash with his feelings (Henley's words), but I think that's because he wore his heart (feelings) on his sleeve. He literally would say exactly what he was feeling. A straight shooter if you will. But the banter, so here for it 🥵. Also, I thought his obsession with pickleball was hilarious. These two together were so sweet. I can't wait to see them make appearances throughout the series.

As always, the text chains between this family of bothers were top notch 🤣.

“Baby. I’m not going anywhere. I’m right here. I want this. I want you. I’m just waiting for you to give me a sign that you want this, too,” I said.

If toxic masculinity gets you going, then this is for you.

There’s alphaholes that are fun and sexy, and then there’s Easton. This guy was hot and cold and just acted like a total jack*ss. I genuinely do not understand any of the appeal. I’ve never actively rooted for a couple to not have a HEA, but I did with this one.

The group chat with the brothers was awful. Just gross caricatures of men that diminishes them to one dimensional creatures who only care about base urges.

And the FMC’s only character traits were rich and hot. So boring.

I think this author is just not for me, unfortunately.

the story is fine but it reads like it was written by a teenager

I truly believe that this is my favorite author. I have not rated her books less than 4.5 ⭐️. She writes small town, like no other. I also love how it all connects. I have been curious about Easton’s story since Emerson. I love the family and the friends who are family. The text thread that these guys have is GOLDEN!!!! Thank you so much for this ARC.

4.5- I loved this book. Both main characters were strong and lovable in their own ways. And this story didn’t have a conflict that I predicted which is rare so surprising me definitely wins points! Fun read.

I usually love Laura Pavlov and will continue to read her books! This one just wasn’t as big of a hit for me..it wasn’t enemies to lovers so much as giving insta-love..like one day he just suddenly is over himself and obsessed?? I did like their relationship/banter and storyline post getting together but I didn’t think that their get together worked for me and it was harder for me to get into the story overall.
