The Princess and the Shark
"I want every day with you."
Possible spoilers in this review:
This is a small town, workplace romance. The town is sweet and its own character. Lots of personalities and antics ensue. Easton is a popular lawyer in town. His family is like royalty, and we met them briefly in another series by the author. Easton has 4 brothers and 1 twin sister(from other series). He has past relationship trauma that has him make his main focus in life his job. Henley is new in town and is going to be mentoring under Easton. Her dad is Eastons mentor and boss. Henley is very smart and has a good head on her shoulders. She is emotionally intelligent and has had therapy, so even though she has daddy and abandonment issues, she is aware and works thru them. Between working together, pickleball, an impromptu birthday dinner, and underware swimming, these two grow close and find a connection. They finally get together and tell everyone, and everything is hea, except it's only 70% of the book...
Of course, the man let's his unchecked trauma get in their way. He gets a good man up chat from the one and only Beefcake(from a previous book), and he gets his girl and works on his issues.
Overall, the story had some good times. I am a major fan of text messages in books. They are always a good time, and this book was no exception.
The next book was subtly laid out in this one, and it will be on my tbr.

Picking a Laura Pavlov book means always falling in love with a new family and a new small town every time and Steal My Heart was not an expectation! I adored this town and the family so freaking much!
My favorite thing in this story was, undoubtedly, Henley. It was so freaking good to know more about her and follow her process about work, life and friends. She’s one of those characters that are just so easy to get, you know? A main character that you instantly connect with and you root for her since the beginning! There were some scenes that I truly loved even more, especially when she stood by herself and tried to fight for what she believed - I loved her fearless self and every time she just proved how clever and smart she is.
The male main character, in the end, owned my heart but it was a rough path if I am being honest. Easton was not easy to understand, especially in the first half of the story - he was like Henley said “a walking red flag” and I truly felt that until the end. However, he was the one who brought a deeper meaning to this story and I ended up loving him, despite all his flaws.
In the end, this love story is so much more than a workplace romance. For me, it was about finding love again and about not stopping living even when we are afraid and terrified of life and that is what I enjoyed most about them: the way they found each other and completed some missing parts that were previously lost.

Incredibly delightful! This is a brilliant first installment in another small town series, and I loved the characters. Easton is Emerson’s twin, the woman who cancelled her wedding and ended in Magnolia Falls as their new general practitioner doctor. She’s also the one who stole Nash’s heart. We met Easton in that book when he came to Magnolia Falls to help Nash with his custody case against Cutler’s bio mom, and I was so eager to read Easton’s story. And it was as good as I expected!
Easton is the manager of a law firm’s Rosewood River branch. He’s given the assignment to mentor one of the partners’ daughter, just out of law school. And of course, he’s biased against her, thinking she’s a daddy’s daughter, using the privilege of her legacy. And he’s in for a huge surprise! The surprises kept coming as he deals with Henley Holloway the first few weeks. She’s incredibly beautiful, competent, hard working, and the best of all, incredible at pickleball! Because of course, Easton is a shark in office and an ace in the pickleball courts. When I read this part, I knew I was in for a wonderful read.
The story is entertaining, and it has its undertones of issues; Henley has abandonment issues, Easton has a tragedy in his past that has affected how he deals with women. Their carriers are important to them, hence the romance at work issue is a big deal. And then we have Easton’s family who are a delightfully rowdy lot, Henley’s bestie Lulu, who is an irreverent woman with a huge zest for life. The author used the group chats again, and it’s hilarious and informative. We get to know all the men we’ll be reading about soon, in future books. And I can’t wait, especially Bridger, the grumpy one.
The wonderful elements of small town are present here, with The Taylor Tea column, a gossip rag that chronicles the doings of the town citizens, and the businesses’ peculiar owners. It all joins together for a wonderfully entertaining read, with some sexy times and sweet times, funny parts, and emotional moments. The story and the characters have certainly stolen my heart!

"So I'd savor every day, every moment, with the woman who stole my heart."

If you're looking for a heartwarming, office-romance with all the feels, Steal My Heart by Laura Pavlov is a MUST-READ!
What I Loved:
-The main characters: Easton Chadwick and Henley Holloway. Their chemistry is undeniable, and I couldn’t help but root for them from the start. As Easton says, "...she's the one I'd been waiting for. And forever started the day she'd walked into that office."
-Family: Laura Pavlov writes the best families, blood related and best friends. The Chadwick family seems incredible and I'm excited to meet more of them!
-Small town vibes: Laura Pavlov always writes a cute lil town I want to visit. I can't wait to get back to Rosewood River!
-The importance of mental health!: It's rare to read a book about a MMC going to therapy and overcoming his fears from traumatic events. I really appreciated this part of the book.
-Special appearance by BEEFCAEKE! (iykyk, hehehe)
What to Expect:
-Small Town
-Hate to Love Office Romance
-Mentor and Apprentice
-Boss's Daughter
-MMC and FMC are lawyers

You say new Laura pavlov release and I am there. I absolutely adore Laura’s books and these are no different. It’s always sad leaving a series but knowing you have a brand new series with brand new characters to read about is amazing.
I was absolutely hooked by Henley and Easton from the very start, I loved reading Easton in the last series and I was really excited to start his book. Their chemistry they had was amazing and I was here for all of it.
Cannot wait to read more of this series!
