reading this book felt like being lifted out of my body, the prose drowned me. in a positive way. it's so splutteringly honest and remains ringing long after putting it down. how is this a debut novel

genuinely one of the best books i’ve ever read. it’s a very upsetting read, but the fragmented narrative is so genius if you are willing and able to read it you will never regret it. the water imagery, the poetics, everything is constructed so carefully and successfully. not a joy to read, but a joy to be able to experience such a great command of language.
