What a fun listen this story is! I love stories that revolve around family and characters with history. This one fits the bill with some sports thrown in too! Nick and Eden's families grew up together. Until something split them apart. Now grown, Nick is a pro basketball player. He sees this research doctor when she is fulfilling her dream of being a cheerleader and he has every intention of talking to her. And our story begins. It's filled with getting to know each other and working through trust issues, but what I really enjoyed is the family dynamics. The over controlling parent, the secrets that come out and getting to know siblings is just as much fun as the romance. It's spicy, it's fun and a great listen! Normandie Alleman has a winning audio!
Aiden Snow and Alicyn Aimes are a fantastic team, tell this story perfectly. Snow's talent lets him become Nick, the famous player, the attentive boyfriend and adamant son. Each voice of Nick is spot on, depending on the situation, and Snow brings it all into play. Alicyn Aimes brings Eden to life with the emotional side, loving, trusting, and wanting what is best for them both. It's an fun listen and I can't wait to meet more of the Barnes Family.

Meh.
Honestly going in blind for this read didn't help matters at all. I thought I could grow to like it the more I read but umm no it didn't work.
I hate when it takes me days to read a book just hoping I can sooner or later get into it but with this one I couldn't. This was also a first read by this author too.
I had many many eye roll moments throughout and I don't usually have those in many books that I read, let's just say it was kind of boring in a way and predictable.
Eden is a typical Heroine in a sense but then had a way about her that just made me not want to read her parts because it was just boring.
Nick wasn't that much interesting either to be fair, he was just blah. To add to everything the relationship with his mother just was annoying.
This review is in no way a means to bash the author because I don't do that I just couldn't get into this book probably as much as some have and that's my opinion. Hopefully if I read another book of this authors I may love it, who knows!

A nice reading without too much drama even if with a character like Nick’s mother I had expected more drama. The protagonists didn’t give me much, maybe because the book is short, but I didn’t feel their love story. It’s a cute book where characters don’t commit drastic actions and their misunderstandings come to a quick end. Nick’s family has intrigued me and maybe in the future I’ll try to read the series with the brothers.

Enjoyed
This was a new author that I recently discovered. Overall it was a nice story but personally hate when a parent is horrible. Also would have enjoyed the story more if Eden and Nick were married before the twins were born. I like that it was a basketball romance.

The audiobook version was perfect, I liked both the readers and felt completely pulled into the story. Anxious to see what happens to Nick's siblings, this looks to be a fantastic series to follow.

Eden Evans and Nick Barnes close friends when they were little, both of their fathers being rockstars, their families saw a lot of each other. But when family feud and a plane crash killing both of the fathers, Eden and her mother move to Texas. Leaving the Barnes family behind. Ten years late Nick is a famous basketball player and Eden is a incredible doctor and is on the cheerleading team of her dreams. (Yeah I know it’s weird, doctor and cheerleader). When Nick sees Eden cheer at one of the games, he now knew he recognized her. When he finally makes the connection, he excitedly reaches out to her, trying to rekindle their relationship and form a new one. But will their mothers be ok with this? Will they try to get in they way? Only time will tell.
This book was great, and had good writing and plot. Although, it was kind of predictively at times. The character were great. Eden was like able enough. But she would go crazy if she even thought Nick was cheating on her. And she didn’t trust him very much to stay true to his word. One text and she took the twins from him and ran away! You should have some more trust! But she is a good mother, and did what she thought was best for her children. Nick was great. He was there for Eden and the twins. He finally realized that basketball was not the most important thing for him. His family is. I’m glad he realized that. At first I was worried that he would choose basketball over family. But I couldn't have been more wrong. Lastly, Lucinda. Ugh, hated her. How could she be so cold with her children? All she see when she looks at them is money and fame. She should be proud of her children and let them live their own lives. Nope, she has to control everything they do and try to mess everything up. She sent that text! That was just plain evil. But really, how couldn’t Nick see that she would try something like this? And why has it taken him this long to realize just how far she will go got what she wants?
Anyways, overall I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to readng about the other Barnes’ stories.

The 4 stars is probably generous. I liked the plot however and the characters as well. Had a KUWTK vibe which was cool but I liked how constant Nick was as a person throughout this story.

This story starts off with me wondering more about the men in charge of the Barnes and Evans family. It's because of them that we have this story and the subsequent ones that follow. With this one, we have two kids that grew up together and then all that changed. Later in life they reconnect and that's what creates the ups and downs here. My hook moment had to be Nick's conversation with his mother at the beginning of the story.
I'm not really a current basketball fan but that didn't stop me from wanting to listen to this book. In reality the season is over as I'm listening to Nick and Eden's story but I can picture, when I listen to this again, going to a game but having my earbuds in while the narrators tell me the story once more. Mr. Snow was great in helping me picture what Nick may look and act like. However, Ms. Aimes made it hard to picture Eden. I like her as a narrator but I can't picture Eden as a cheerleader with Ms. Aimes voice. But if I forget that, I enjoyed having this story being told to me. For continuity, I'm glad to see that they will help me enjoy the rest of the Barnes Family series. The only issue I had with the audio version is that every time I bent over to do something, the story would cut out or skip. I don't feel it was the book itself but due to an issue with my earbuds.
Our author made it very easy for me to listen to her her words. She's great at building a family that I'm eager to get to know better. I can see myself having both the book and the audible copies. There are plenty of times where I would prefer having someone read to me and then in other cases I just have to have a book because it forces me to sit down and concentrate on the words that I'm reading. With an audiobook, and having my hands free, I can go about my business and get work done while Ms. Aimes and Mr. Snow get me aquainted with the characters and the world they live in. Can't wait for my credit to come so I can get the next book in the series.

Received for an honest opinion.
Initially I really liked this book. I loved the premise, of two friends connecting after such a long time and I loved Nick. But as the book developed it just got hung up on the wrong stuff. All this worry Eden had about Nick cheating when there was no evidence really annoyed me. It came out of nowhere, I felt like that whole angle wasn't fully developed and arose more to try and give weight to her claim than something she had experienced first hand. The whole angle just got really annoying, there were so many other ways to screw with them, Lucinda was a great character you love to hate, but she was pushed to the side. I'd have loved to have seen a showdown between her and Mary Lou and see nick stand up for himself more. I also found legion to be a confusing character. Like I said, I initially liked this book but it tried too hard and made too many leaps and bounds and dodged the stuff you really wanted to happen. I am interested in Dynassy's book but am wary about it.
