Just incredibly honest and inspiring! I can’t wait to see Viola Davis in her upcoming dramatic film The Woman King, to be released on September 16.

Type of read: Commuter Read.

What made me pick it up: Viola Davis is a force and 'Finding Me' seemed right up my alley.

Overall rating: Absolutely beautiful and raw. I love the way Davis shares her story from the very beginning. There is no subject off limits, there is no shame around conventionally taboo topics, and there is an accessibility to her story that helps you see yourself within the pages. 'Finding Me' was an unexpected tear-jerker with many little nuggets that I've already pulled out and plan to keep close to my heart and use to remind myself of my strength when I feel weak. Davis writes with a passion and honesty that is rare and real . I would absolutely 100% recommend 'Finding Me.'

I absolutely adore this book. I loved learning about her history and finding. She is such a great narrator and writer. She truly deserves every good thing that brought her to the screen. She truly brought me to tears while listening to her book; and this will be one of my all time favs till i die.

I was amazed at the things Viola endured especially as a child and how she not only overcame them but also got to a point where she could share the deepest parts of her that her whole life were hidden secrets.  It was a very good memoir and it touched me!
