Really enjoyed some of the extended prose in here, but a lot of it was just giving generic Instagram poetry - which just isn’t my style.

Also I was stunned to see that the author isn’t actually plus sized after reading a whole section of poetry titled ‘she must be fat’.

None of the poems really resonated with me? There were only two I truly enjoyed - "all i wanted was some toast" and "seaweed - for grandad". Might be more relatable to another reader.

Loved the „She must be mad“ and „She must be an adult“ section. Some of them hit really close to home especially her poem „All I wanted was some toast“.

The other two were ok. I couldn‘t identify with them so it didn‘t really do anything for me. The poems felt very personal which can be a good thing but sometimes it‘s really difficult to relate if you have never experienced something like that before.

Overall I really enjoyed this collection of poetry.. some of the poems I could really relate to and they affected me a lot, others just weren’t really for me. But in general I thought the poems were nicely written and covered some important and relatable topics :) If you enjoy poetry about mental health and body image, etc. I would recommend this!

Honest, coming of age, organic yet mythical. A mix of imagery so creative and also very blunt and straight to the point.
