A lovely grumpy - sunshine romance featuring a surprise child, an age gap and lots of familial sweetness. I found it enjoyable enough.

I read this book right after the first one and I did enjoy this one a bit more. This one follows the next roommate, Zoey, who has a crush on her boss Gavin who is also 19 years older than her. I'm not usually into age gap romances, but I actually enjoyed this one. Gavin is around my age and I found him charming and realistic. (Side Note: the author did say that she is also the same age as Gavin so that would make sense as to why he felt so realistic.) Zoey is uptight and about to quit her job because she can't take working with him anymore.

The plot was very fast-moving on this one. I think all the events take place in maybe a week. Again, felt like insta-love, but not really since they've known each other and crushed on each other for years. I don't know... there's definitely a pattern with these books. Zoey has the added elements of having some panic attack situations and I found those done relatively well. She makes some mistakes, but is quick to correct them. I think her worries are reasonable and well-founded.

Downside: More misogyny by the main character. Apparently these ladies hate any female that isn't in their little circle. It's minor enough that it isn't super annoying, but at the same time, it's minor enough that it didn't need to be in there at all.

In addition to the first book, this one was dramatic and kind of ridiculous, but I still had fun and laughed and was so into it when I was reading it. The romance was super sweet.
