Well, not extreme horror for a start. Mostly a disaster thriller of the kind that were popular a few decades ago - and then it changes to something else possibly something very popular on TV at the moment (not saying what to avoid spoilers). I got to the end of it and thought there was going to be more - it's like the setup promises more than there actually is. I usually read Matt Shaw avidly but despite the good character setup and description of the disaster this as a whole didn't do it for me.
