A quick read, and lacking in the usual delightfulness. But, I still got to spend an hour in Three Pines

The Hangman was a fast paced novella and helped me get out of a reading slump. The short novella was written for GoodReads Canada, a literacy organization to help adult readers. I love the cause and commend Louise Penny for being a part of it. I am definitely interested in reading more from this author.

It’s interesting to watch Gamache solve a mystery so quickly. It was a great short story and I always love the villagers of Three Pines but I missed the slow burn.

I have read this so many times!

This short story is perfect for reading before bed, during a drought of good books or virtually any time! Any excuse to return to Three Pines is brilliant, in my opinion.

It’s fast. It’s exciting. It’s Gamache.

Short and sweet and probably a more realistic timeline for a chief inspector to stay solving a crime within a tiny town of his province.

Audiobook: a short story in the Gamache series reminded me a bit of Christie’s short stories. A lot is packed into it and the conclusion was a good one. The narration was ok but knowing the outcome I think I now understand some choices made about the voices for the different characters.
