Reread: Fantastic as always of course. Such a great ending to the series, i would have wished that we followed Music and Katie in this one too, but alas you cannot follow everyone in every book.

I'm so sad that I've finished the series! I felt sad knowing that Ross and Demelza's relationship wasn't 100%. But I'm satisfied with how we leave everyone. I was disappointed that we didn't spend as much time with Sam, Drake, and Mowenna when they were such a large part of previous books. At first I was bored by the murder mystery plot line, especially because the murderer seemed to be so obvious. I still don't know if it was necessary, although I was on the edge of my seat when it came to a head. I was also upset about Ross's recklessness at the end. It was such a stupid move for him to do.

I am heartbroken that this is the last Poldark book, and now I have finished it. It was as unexpected and absorbing and satisfying as every earlier installment, but I can’t believe I have no more to read now. I am in permanent love with Ross and Demelza and of course Cornwall. Fare well, my beloveds. I am very glad to have known you through these wonderful books.

Whether you are Michael Jackson or Valentine Warlaggen, you should never presume that you can own a primate.

This is the culmination of 12 books and several years of reading for me. I feel like I KNOW these people and I am sad to have reached the end of their literary journey. As with any books I truly enjoy, the characters continue to live on in my imagination. All of the books in this series have apexes, lulls, parts to trudge through, but one thought stands clear and apparent to me - the stories of love, heartache, betrayal, joy, despair, war and family pulled me in and I had to know more. Always more. And now I know all there is to know. It is done, and it was good.

I am so sad to say goodbye to the wonderful story of the Poldark family. Winston Graham was such a beautiful writer. This book was not my favorite....I was rooting for a better outcome for Valentine...And I honestly got bored with Bella's performances and storyline. I was so happy for Clowance & believe in my heart that Cuby and Philip got together! I did like the added murder mystery in this book.

~Ross hesitated....Then he looked at Demelza. Oh, wisest of women, what would she say now? Demelza said: I would like another glass of port.' (My favorite line in this book)
