The complaints I had for the first book still kind of apply but not as much since I'm more acclimated to the world now. I absolutely love Carrigan - major Maggie Q as Nikita vibes and she's a boss ass badass bitch and I'm here for it! She can really hold her own and I almost cried when she was saying goodbye to Sloan. Speaking of which, totally NEED a book on Sloan.

With enemies to lovers and Romeo and Juliet vibes Heated Rivals gives it all. The romance was woven beautifully into the plot, it didn't feel like it was forced in there.
Seeing the turmoil James has and what he goes through really helps you understand why he is the way he is, and Carrigan is a force to be reckoned with.

Cardigan and James might be my favorites so far (granted I’ve only read the first two books) but together I feel like they can take on anything. I’m obsessed.
I love a good mob story, and this series is playing out like one of those mob dramas I can't walk away from. There is so much going on...family turmoil, mob family maneuvering, and characters that have me tied up in knots! Angst...check! Sexy times...double check! This is one of those series that I hope goes on for a long time!
I enjoyed this one! i liked carrigan from the first story and love seeing her and James story come to life. They had such chemistry! And both of them really go through it in this one not just with their relationship and love story but also with their families and where they fit in the world. This one was spicy full of adventure and I am enjoying this series!
