The second in the O'Malleys series picking up with Carrigan and James. Loved their chemistry in the first book and their history and their families rivalry makes a future with them impossible.
Carrigan is being forced to marry someone from her father's list. But James is the only one that listens to her and values her. But he's the enemy and if she goes with him she will be a traitor.

If Dark succession was going to be an indication of how addicting this series was going to be, Heated Rivals just blew my mind.

I am absolutely obsessed with Carrigan and James, they’re my perfect duo and this series keeps on getting deliciously

I read the first one and I gave it 3.5 starts. There were too many POVs besides the main couple and I would prefer to only hear from the main couple for each book. I may try it again later but this just wasn’t a book I could read right now.

Another drama and tension-filled installment of The O'Malleys!

Carrigan O'Malley has spent most of her life avoiding the inevitable: a marriage, arranged by her father, to secure political/business/family alliances and further the O'Malley agenda in Boston. While Carrigan has had her fun and made a name for herself in the family circles, there's no getting around the fact that at 28, she's at the end of her single life. That's when she meets James Halloran, the man at the head of the family responsible for one of her family's greatest tragedies. James is different, and he has his eyes set on Carrigan; it's heat that's in his gaze, not danger. And she stares right back with fire and determination all her own.

When faced with a list of suitors, she must choose. And she won't be the only one hurt by the outcome of her decision.

I'm really enjoying touring the alleys and pubs of Boston with the O'Malleys, Hallorans, and Sheridans! This series is full of family business, rivalries, danger, betrayal, death, tradition, and drama,

Carrigan and James' story is riddled with tension and I loved every time the bubble burst. James has big plans, a good heart, and a dirty mouth, and he is utterly obsessed with the eldest O'Malley daughter. Their plans and dreams crash and collide, and they manage to find one another amidst the chaos. To find love in their world is nearly unheard of, and Heated Rivals highlights all of the danger that love in the mob can bring.

This series has its share of action and excitement without being overwhelming or confusing. I wanted a bit more from Heated Rivals at times, but overall, it's a solid, entertaining romantic suspense that I look forward to continuing.

**Thank you Forever, Katee Robert, and NetGalley for an ARC of Heated Rivals in exchange for my honest review!**
challenging dark mysterious tense

I really liked this book! Carrigan and James just had that whole enemies to lovers vibe along with the family feud preventing them from choosing to be together. I loved both characters and their fierce attitudes.
I wasn’t sure I’d continue after book 2, but getting a preview of the next potential relationship each book ends up making me feel like I have to see how it pans out!
