I’ve been waiting for these two and their book. I knew with the set up from book one that their book was going to be a delicious forbidden romance and I was not wrong. James and Carrigan can’t be together–with the whole ‘our families want to kill each other’ issue going on. But after the explosive night they shared from the first book, there’s this craving they both share for one another. And it’s twisted because neither really knows if they can trust the other…but they almost don’t care. You’ve felt that way about a guy before, I’m sure, and it leads to this sort of hate-sex, but so deep in the emotional aspect too.
Katee Roberts takes us back into the mafia underworld with THE WEDDING PACT, and I want to say it’s better than the first book. I loved how James was constantly skirting that line of good vs. bad in his work, but with Carrigan he was just a dirty-minded, sexy man who couldn’t keep his hands off of her. And the way in which we delved deeper in the O’Malley world, seeing how this life is affecting all of the kids differently, and the stressors each takes on to survive. Carrigan was a very conflicted, trapped woman who found herself living every time James was near, and it became something special to her. But, oh, the mafia isn’t simple and it was laid out so well, the weaving and bending of the inner sanctums. It was both hot and suspenseful, another great addition to the series!
